Becoming Fluent in a Language Part I.

Being fluent in a Language not only takes patience but discipline.
Adopting a Language also means adopting that culture. From the foods, religions, music etc.....

You have to make your Learning experience Fun. Making "native" friends in that culture will help. Try hanging out in Shopping Centers with those people. Try going to events that they are hosting. Try traveling to they're country, even if it is for a weekend.

I say "Native Friends" because 9 times out of 10 Americanized people are too Americanized to help you. Native people are able to teach you more about they're culture.

You have to make they're Language your Language! Eat and breathe the Language you are learning. Your television needs to include some channels in that Language. If you are a news watcher, try watching the news about that country. Know whats going on there!

If you are religious then try visiting a church that only speaks that Language. Trust me, the people are very welcoming...

If you are addicted to reality shows, then try watching reality shows from that country. Note: Reality TV is not just in the U.S. LOL it's Drama everywhere...

Basically you really have to make they're Language, YOUR Language!

Good Luck! ~Ambie Gonzalez
